What is AYBA

An industry body built on trust,
standards and shared expertise

Independent, broker-led, and open to reputable brokers across Australasia, raising the professional standard of yacht brokerage.

Our purpose

Confidence in every yacht transaction

The Australasian Yacht Brokers Association exists to improve confidence in yacht transactions throughout Australasia and the wider Asia-Pacific, by setting the highest professional standards for yacht brokers through ethics, education, trusted documentation and transparent, collaborative dealing.

AYBA is deliberately not a one-firm venture. It is an open, independent body owned by and answerable to practising brokers. Membership is a credential clients can trust and a network members rely on. The more reputable brokers who join, the stronger the standard becomes for everyone.

Why now

Australia and New Zealand have industry bodies for the broader boating sector, but the region has lacked a dominant, independent brokerage association that sets the benchmark for ethics, contracts, deposit handling and collaboration the way MYBA has for the international superyacht market. AYBA is built to fill that gap, and to lift the whole industry with it.

What we stand for

A professional membership that keeps standards and commissions where they should be; a code of practice with real consequences; standardised contracts that make deals safer and simpler; and a co-brokerage network where members sell each other's boats and share the reward fairly, rather than cutting each other out.

The difference

Membership you earn, and a badge that means something.

AYBA is by application and review. We admit established, ethical brokers of good standing, so that clients and fellow members can trust the name. That selectivity is the point: it protects the market from bad actors and keeps the profession's reputation high.
