Governance

Member-led, and built to stay that way

AYBA separates governance from operations from day one: an elected board sets direction, member committees do the work, and an executive runs the day-to-day.

How it works

Structure

Good associations fail when a few people own everything and members feel like spectators. AYBA is designed the opposite way: the people who do the broking shape the standards they're held to.

Board

Elected directors

Around seven directors, elected by members with staggered terms for continuity. The board sets strategy and safeguards the code.

Committees

Member working groups

Where the real work happens, drawn from the membership, responsive to the needs of Australasian brokerage.

Executive

Day-to-day

An executive officer runs operations and member services, accountable to the board.
